In 1979, attorney Anthony Sammarco received his Bachelor of Science degree from DePaul University. He also obtained his Juris Doctorate from DePaul University, College of Law in Chicago, in 1982. That same here, Mr. Sammarco was admitted to the Illinois State Bar and the United States District Court Bar.
Mr. Sammarco has maintained an active role as a member of the Will County Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, and the DuPage County Bar Association. He has served on the DCBA Matrimonial Law Committee and was a member of the Illinois State Bar Association Section Counsel on Judicial Evaluations from 2006 to 2007. He served as a member of the ISBA Family Law Section Counsel in 2014 to 2015 and is currently serving on the ISBA ARDC Section Counsel for 2015-2016.
In 1993, Mr. Sammarco joined The Stogsdill Law Firm, P.C. With experience ranging from simple divorce matters to complex cases which include classifying and distributing property; reimbursement for equitable division of the marital estate; adoptions; and proceedings involving the Illinois Domestic Violence Act and extending, awarding or modifying an Order of Protection, Mr. Sammarco has worked in numerous areas. He also provides appellate representation for appellate proceedings in the Appellate Court of Illinois both First and Second Districts and has worked at providing help with enforcing, modifying, and drafting pre-nuptial agreements.
Mr. Sammarco lectured at several continuing legal education seminars in 2002 and 2003. He has served as a children’s representative and attorney for minor children and is committed to providing pro bono advocacy. He received the DCBA Pro Bono Service Award in 2007 and again in 2014.
